It used to be the American Dream was owning a home in the suburbs with a 2 car garage, a backyard, 3 kids, maybe a dog, and don't forget the white picket fence. Well those days at least for now seem to be over and the new American dream is to simply be able to have enough money to retire, survival has become the new goal standard.
